Professional Achievements

Jennifer Berk Weisman ’86 published "Sink or Swimwear," a memoir about surviving trauma and making it into the fashion industry as the CEO and Founder of Just Bones Boardwear. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ben Spoont ’04, Founder and CEO of Misfits Gaming Group, the company that owns the Misfits, Florida Mutineers, and Florida Mayhem teams, has secured a new round of investment that will bring in $35 million

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Brandon Knight ’10 was drafted by the Miami Heat’s G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce.



 

 

Andrew Friedenberg ’73 has published his memoir, "Celebrity War Stories: Confessions of a Movie Studio Publicist." 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Marissa Hecker ’14 will perform in the Off-Broadway debut of “The Office! A Musical Parody.” She also recently starred in "Spamilton," at the Kravis Center in Boca Raton, Florida. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Alex Ross ’11 and Dani Pendergast ’13 published a children's book together. The Social Chameleon is available on Amazon.

 

 

 

 

 

Dani Pendergast ’13 is the illustrator for Leigh Bardugo's new graphic novel "Demon in the Wood."

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. David Diamond 86 has been elected Chair of the Florida Board of Medicine. The Board oversees the professional activities of some 89,000 medical doctors in Florida.

Martha (Scott) Robbins ’69 (fifth from the left) and her fellow womens' golf teammates were honored by the University of Florida in their series celebrating the 50th anniversary of their women's athletic program.

Alex Viergutz ’95 and his family relocated to Zurich, Switzerland. The family lived there for 8 years and returned in early 2021 after spending the past two years in Chicago and Singapore. 

 

 

David Reich ’91 and his wife Barbara recently donated looms to second grade students in support of the #HatsNotHate campaign. The anti-bullying campaign's mission is to raise awareness by making, wearing, and sharing blue hats. 

 

 

 

 

Charles Guzzetta ’09, President of BurgerFi was recently featured by Chain Store Age for the chain's success in Florida and plans to expand.

 

 

 

Marriages

Upper School sweethearts Lilliana de Souza ’17 and Christian Robinson ’17 were married in the summer of 2021. 

 

 

 

 

 

In Memoriam

Harold "Skip" Warp ’64 passed away on December 25, 2020. Harold was the President and CEO of the Harold Warp Pioneer Village Foundation in Minden, Nebraska.

 

 

 

 

 

Lawrence (Larry) Pedicord ’77H passed away peacefully at his Okeechobee Lakefront vacation home on November 29, 2021. Larry began working at Pine Crest School in 1957 where he taught seventh grade science and coached boys' and girls' varsity basketball, and varsity tennis. In 1977,  Larry was named an Honorary Alumnus and ten years later was inducted into the Pine Crest Athletic Hall of Fame.

In 1960, Larry used his expert experience as a camp director in Dayton, Ohio to found Pine Crest Day Camp. Larry also spearheaded the School's acquisition of Camp Highlander and served as its executive director. Larry retired from Pine Crest School in 1997.
