Professional Achievements

Rowena Ramnath ’90 was promoted to Psychology and Psychiatry Program Manager at the Department of Veterans Affairs where she serves as a Clinical Psychologist. 

 

 

 

 

 



 

Dr. Sumit Sood ’06 served as one of the authors on a recent publication about the clinical outcomes of patients with recurrent non–small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) tumors.

 

 

 

 

 



Lara Collazo 02 took a new job with Genentech as their Business Engagement Manager.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Elizabeth Ross ’08 recently took a position at Upstate Veterinary Specialists in Greenville, South Carolina. She is a board certified specialist in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Enrique Collazo ’06 recently took a position with electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian as a senior software engineer.

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Gabriela Wagner ’08, also known as Dr. Gabby Wild has released a book in partnership with National Geographic. National Geographic Kids’ Wild Vet Adventures: Saving Animals Around the World with Dr. Gabby Wild will be available on March 3, 2021 and is recommended for children ages 7-12. 

Eric Collazo ’13 recently started a new job as the Operations Manager at RoadRunner Recycling Inc. 

 

 

 

 

 

Roger Fleming ’74 recently published his second novel "Outsider Rules." In his second novel, readers explore the dual beasts of D.C. lobbying and the dark side of campaign finance. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jonathan Cohn ’87 recently published "The Ten Year War: Obamacare and the Unfinished Crusade for Universal Coverage." Jonathan was called "one of the nation's leading experts on health policy" by the Washington Post. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jill Robbins ’79 retired from the University of California after 36 years in academia at UC and at The University of Texas at Austin. Her latest book, Poetry and Crisis: Cultural Politics and Citizenship in the Wake of the Madrid Bombings, was published by the University of Toronto Press in 2019.

 

 

 

 

 

Marriages:

Marie (Rhodes) Eide ’78 married her longtime partner, Mark Eide, on October 10, 2020, surrounded by their children, William Hickman and Marissa Eide, and family in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Marie is a freelance writer and editor.

 

Joseph Arduini ’10 married Maddie McCosh in Kansas City, Missouri on November 1, 2020.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Babies:

Amy Zelcer ’03 and husband Jason Richman welcomed their daughter Maya on November 23, 2020. They can't wait to deck her out in Pine Crest School apparel!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In memoriam:

Douglas Dettman ’71 proud alumnus and father of three Panthers passed away on December 26, 2020, after battling cancer. He is survived by his wife, four children, and six grandchildren. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We are sad to share that educator and coach, Leigh "Tim" Harris, passed away on Saturday, February 6, surrounded by his children, Donna, Leigh ’71, Dale, and Tim ’79.Here is an additional article published by Camp Highlander.

 

Karl-Philippe Pflanzer ’93 passed away in January 2021.
