Introducing The Markham Center for Teaching and Learning

Designed to accelerate faculty and student learning, the Markham Center for Teaching and Learning provides a warm welcome to campus and spaces for students to learn and explore. The Center was named in honor of two individuals who tirelessly dedicate themselves to providing the best possible educational experience in the safest setting for generations of children: Dr. Dana Markham ’18H, President, and Mr. Joe Markham ’24H, Vice President of Security, Support Services and Crisis Management. The building stands as a testament to their extraordinary dedication, visionary leadership and lasting impact on the Pine Crest community.

The 20,000-square-foot Center represents Pine Crest’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, innovation and community.

Highlights of the center include the Hudson Library, anchored by a two-story tree symbolizing growth and aspiration; the Julien Family Design Studios, featuring labs for robotics, computer science, innovation, esports and STEM; and state-of-the-art science and math classrooms where students engage in hands-on, project-based learning using advanced tools and interactive technology. __MarkhamCenter

Equally significant is the Weinberg Faculty Learning Lab, a dedicated space for professional development that connects educators across campuses and with experts worldwide. Equipped with collaborative technology and a curated resource wall, the lab reflects Pine Crest’s belief that great teachers create extraordinary learning experiences.

The Markham Center doubles as a learning space and is a welcome center for prospective families that are applying to Pine Crest School. They meet with Admission Officers in the lobby, pass by the murals which use custom imagery to enhance the visitor experience and use this location as the start to their campus tour.

More than a building, the Markham Center stands as a tribute to two remarkable leaders and as a living commitment to Pine Crest’s mission: to prepare students to meet the challenges of tomorrow with curiosity, resilience and a love of learning.
