Professional Achievements: 

Pari Forood ’76, author of The Gates of Light and Foundation Executive Director, gave the keynote address at a Naturalization Ceremony welcoming new citizens to the U.S. in Poughkeepsie, New York.

 

 

 

 

Barbara Shinn-Cunningham ’82 has been appointed to establish Carnegie Mellon University’s cross-disciplinary neuroscience institute.

 

 

Matthew Rogge ’98 was named to Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisors list for 2018. Matthew is the Senior Vice President of Wealth Management at Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Inc.

 

 

 

 

Elizabeth Fowler ’78 began production on the film “Official Secrets” this month. Check out who is set to star in the film.

 

 

 

 

Paul Fletcher 75 completed four years of service in the national leadership of the Society of Professional Journalists; Paul served as national president in 2015-16. Earlier this year, after 27 years as publisher and editor-in-chief of Virginia Lawyers Weekly, he became group editor-in-chief for his company's operations in Virginia and the Carolinas, overseeing four newspapers in three states. “And this all started when I was editor of Type One at PC,” said Paul.

 

 Arix-Yani Fabre ’16 was on the Today Show with Megyn Kelly speaking about the psychology of happiness.

 




Oren Kantor ’06 was recognized at UF's Warrington College of Business Gator100! The event honors the 100 fastest-growing Gator-owned or Gator-led businesses in the world, Oren's business, Salon's Choice was ranked third.

 

 

 

Daniela Wancier ’99, Assistant Professor of Dance at Broward College, was selected to present her innovative dance program at Harvard University's School of Medicine's 2018 world conference on Movement and Cognition this summer.

 

 

 

The campaign for Florida gubernatorial candidate Philip Levine  announced that Chelsea Lunn ’10, an organizer in both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton campaigns, will become Levine’s statewide engagement director.


 

 

Griffin Conine ’15 is projected to be a first round draft pick in the upcoming Major League Baseball (MLB) draft. Griffin is currently a student at Duke University.

 

 

 

 

Spotted:

Daniel Rashbaum ’93 and Hailey Weinberg ’16 were on campus as judges for the AP Government and Politics classes annual Moot Court.

 

 

 

 

 

Frankie Grande ’01 spent two days on campus visiting Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton. Frankie met with students, and some of his former teachers.

 

 

 

 

 

Tara Horvitz ’94, State Attorney for Broward County, and Judge Robin Rosenbaum ’84 of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals helped Upper School students prepare for the We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution program serving as judges at their district level competition.

 

 

 

Karlie Simpson ’16, Isabelle Turner ’16, Amanda Gibson ’16, and Sophia Danielsen ’16 were on campus for the girls’ soccer senior night game!

 

 

 

 

 

Gabriela Guazzo 90 spoke to one of the Advanced Placement (AP) Government and Politics classes about the role of immigration and diplomacy in foreign policy.

Brian Josias ’97 and his wife welcomed Nathan Zander Josias to the world on June 10, 2017.

 

 

 

Robert Bullard ’67 announced the arrival of Maximilian Hess on November 7, 2017, weighing in at 6 lbs 5 oz.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In memoriam:

Justin Kennelly ’84 passed away March 3, 2018. He is survived by his wife Paula, his children Jennifer, Bradley and Samantha, granddaughter Mikaela, brothers John ’81, Scott ’87 and his father John B. Kennelly. He will be missed by his all of his friends and extended Pine Crest family.

 

 

Mrs. Mary Lane, longtime friend and member of the School community passed away on November 28, 2017 in Winter Park, Florida at the age of 97.
