Planning Your Admission Visit to Pine Crest School

Posted by Pine Crest School on January 30, 2020 at 10:21 AM

An important part of applying for admission to an independent school is getting to know the school and assessing if it is right for your family.

The best way to do this is to schedule a campus tour.

During the fall, the Pine Crest School Office of Admission hosts Tour and Explore PC, which offers an opportunity for you to tour one of our campuses, and meet Admission Officers, current parents, and School administrators from a variety of departments.

If you miss one of the Tour and Explore PC dates, do not fret! You may also schedule a private tour of our Boca Raton or Fort Lauderdale campus.

Here are a few tips to help you plan for a day at Pine Crest School:

When should you plan your visit?

Campus tours are offered beginning in early September. Visiting campus early in the fall is ideal for seeing and exploring the buildings, grounds, and programs.

Visits can take place before or after an application is submitted.

What can you expect to see and do?

Families can expect to visit classrooms, art studios, performance areas, and music spaces; see the dining hall and learn about the many options served there; experience our campus makerspaces known as the Zimmerman Family and Mintz Family iLabs; and tour athletic facilities.

A current parent will serve as your campus tour guide if you are visiting the Lower or Middle School. Families visiting our Upper School are guided by Upper School Student Ambassadors.

Our guides are excellent resources for answering all questions related to Pine Crest. Expect to see what life is like in a typical morning or afternoon. Our classroom teachers and students love to have families visit with us and will welcome you into their classrooms with smiles and a warm hello.

How long will the tour last?

The tour will last about 45 minutes to an hour. After checking in with reception, your tour guide will greet you, and you will head out on campus.

What should you wear?

Be comfortable! Shorts and comfortable clothing are welcomed.

Parking

When visiting either of our campuses, all adults should have a valid form of identification, which you will be asked for upon arrival.

If you are visiting our Boca Raton campus, follow the directions provided by the security officers.

Guest parking is available at the front of the school in the diagonal spaces. Specific event parking will be provided by the security officers.

If you are visiting our Fort Lauderdale campus, visitors should park in the parking garage located on 62nd Street, east of the baseball field and Dixie Highway.

Remember, your visit to Pine Crest is about your family. This is the best time to ask questions and gauge if our mission aligns with yours.
