A career educator, Mr. Wing was synonymous with “Pine Crest Boca,” establishing traditions, a sense of community and camaraderie, and a culture of integrity and respect. Warm and approachable, he learned and remembered everyone’s names—students, employees, parents, and even faculty and staff’s children. Known for his humor and mischief, Mr. Wing wore many disguises for performances and celebrations, such as Cat in the Hat, Cookie Monster, Santa Claus, turkey, officer, pig, crocodile, pirate, frog, cowboy and king. He taught a Middle School class, sponsored the stock market club, conducted traffic duty and handed out cookies during lunch. His leadership, unwavering commitment to education and heartfelt connection with faculty, staff and students left an indelible mark on Pine Crest.

Pine Crest President Dr. Dana Markham 18H presented Mr. Wing with an honorary Pine Crest degree at the Class of 2013 commencement ceremony. In her remarks, Dr. Markham said, "There are very few people who have defined the philosophical blueprint of a school, who have laid a foundation of commitment, loyalty, and trust and who have built and fortified the institutional structure of the school’s programs, brick by figurative brick. Scott Wing is one of those very few.”
